Raising Flags With T1!

Flag Raising

Hi everybody, today I am going to talk about what my class has been doing this week.

As you can see by the title we have been raising flags. We had to start from scratch with limited items and limited amounts. All were were given was a small amount of tape, a lot of paper, scissors, string, a metre ruler and we were able to use pencils and pens to draw.

We had to make a flag pole with a flag that would raise without difficulty, It was not an easy task.

We had to plan it, construct it. After all that the result for our first attempt was a failure, yet we build of that fact and created a success (kinda).

It was fun to do and I recommend people to try this fun activity.

Ballast Reflection T2W8 2018

Ballast

Ballast is an interesting puzzle game off Maths Pickle.

Blotch is a puzzle game which you have to pick numbers. These numbers all have to work in a specific way.

So you see the image up the top there, that is one of the ballast puzzles I have completed. You need 5 numbers. The number 1 and 5 that you see well you times those. The other numbers that are 0, 2 and 3 well those numbers have to add up to the answer of what (for example) 5 x 1 = and that's 5. 0 + 2 + 3 = also 5.

In these the five numbers were already picked out and only 2/3 of them were supposed to work so obviously the center one and the right side one.

Blotch Puzzle T2W7 2018

This week we have been learning about Blotch. Blotch is a puzzle designed for problem solving and a lot of incorrect input.

The way to work out these puzzles may seem to question a lot of people but after time it does start to make sense.

Here is a slide show explaining how to work Blotch........

I hope you check out this fun puzzle game and I hope I explained it well enough.

Thank you for reading my blog post.

Literacy Reflection T2W7 2017

Literacy Reflection

Miss Reissmann Description: This week we did some writing as for last week it was Miss Reissmanns Birthday, which then we wrote some stuff about her which ended up being a whole description. We wrote about what she looked like and things about her and more. Here is my work:

In a small town called Grey mouth, there lives a woman named Helga Reissmann. She has hair that is blonde with golden flecks and streaks of brown and icy sky blue eyes. She wears such nice clothes which make her shine in the dark . She also has these terrifying earrings which I myself do not want to go into detail with.

A thing with Helga Reissmann is that she always wears high heels which is a bit typical (no meaning to be rude). She has three children named Jasmine, Telisha & Cole, Jasmine is 26 years old, Telisha is 24 and Cole is 21.

Helga Reissmann Is very tall and quite medium skinny which means she is quite skinny. Her two favorite colours are black and brown and if i’m being precise chocolate brown. Helga Reissman also has a dog which is called Millie (i’m not sure if that’s the right way to spell it).

Overall Helga Riessman Is an awesome person and teacher which makes her AMAZING.

The End

Journal Leave Summary: A week or more ago me and my literacy group read a book called leave. We chose this book and now we are writing a summary of the book. For the summary we had to write the main ideas and bits about the book. Here is my work:

WALT: Use a variety of strategies (compensation/ partitioning/ adjusting)

Maths Check ups: This week there has been a lot of MATHS. Not quite DLO (digital learning object) work but a bit like tests except not on paper these were called maths check ups. For the maths check ups there was, Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Addition and Subtraction, Plus two more for division. These were all easy at the start but then got harder and harder Which made it more challenging. In my opinion the test wasn't the worst, it was a little bit hard but other wise than that it was ok. Here are some pictures of my work.

Top Team Bonus Reflection T1W10 2017

Top Team

Intro
This week the whole school did Top Team Games. Your school might have done this and if you have you would know. Top Team is groups of people that go to different schools and set up fun activities for the kids to do. For an example there was a water game which we had to fill up a bucket of water and balance it on this stick thing and we had to try to get to the other end.

My Favorite part

My favorite activity for top team would have to be this game that was like a tunnel thing it was very hard to control but it was very fun. While we were doing this activity we kept falling over and it was quite funny. Here is a picture of some people doing it.

My Least favorite part
Despite that all of the activities were good there is always one that you would probably like the least. So my least favorite activity was the activity where we were in this sack with at least four other people, and for me it felt very crowded. I didn't hate this activity it just wasn't my favorite.

Term 1 Week 4 Electronics

Electronics
This week at school on Wednesday my class (M2) had a visitor that did electronics with us. The thing we used for this electronic activity was a circuit board.

He taught us lots of things like how we put the l-e-d lights in and the resister to make the l-e-d lights glow. My team even got a rainbow light on our circuit board.

One of the other activities we did was we tested how strong we are. We had to get the circuit board and put these cords into it. Then we had to have an l-e-d light on the circuit board with the resistor. Then we put nails on the clip bit of the cord, then we had to squeeze the nails and count how how many times the l-e-d light flashed. The longer flashes meant ten and the short ones meant one.
The man/visitors name was Andrew. We did this activity in the Mamaku Hub.

The reason why we did this is because it gave us an introduction to electronics and robotics.

We had a lot of fun doing this and hopefully we will get to do this again.

Do you like electronics?
