Maths Check ups: This week there has been a lot of MATHS. Not quite DLO (digital learning object) work but a bit like tests except not on paper these were called maths check ups. For the maths check ups there was, Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Addition and Subtraction, Plus two more for division. These were all easy at the start but then got harder and harder Which made it more challenging. In my opinion the test wasn't the worst, it was a little bit hard but other wise than that it was ok. Here are some pictures of my work.

Plastic Fantastic: This week I wrote down what I know about plastic.  Here are my ideas. 

What I Know About Plastic

• Burns quickly in a fire.
• Harmful to the environment.
• Harmful to animals and sea creatures.
• There are plastic bags.
• Lots of things are made out of plastic.
• Plastic makes polar fleeces.
• There are lots of types of plastic.
• Some plastics are harder than others.
• Many people hate plastic
• Most food wrappers are made of plastic

WALT: Use an algorithm to solve 2 digit by 2 digit. 
Here is my work. This week for numeracy I completed a how to do 2 digit by 2 digit multiplication in my maths book. I have done one on my chromebook but the teacher said to do it in my book. We had to write it out clearly and add colour to it.  Here is my work.

Maths Buddy: This week on maths buddy I have finished contracted multiplication which is quite simple it's like 2 digit by 1 digit multiplication. Here is what you do for it.

Multiplication: This week I finally finished the long multiplication with carrying.

Multiplication: This week I did some Multiplication with Kyra. We wrote some questions down and then we switched books and answered the questions.

Maths Buddy Long Multiplication: This week on Maths Buddy I did long multiplication. It took me awhile to get long multiplication but after time I did. Here is some work that I did in my book.

Reflection

Writing: This week for writing the whole class have made lists. The lists were about (example) what some people wanted to do before they got older or some lists that people made were about themselves. Here is mine.

Statistics: This week for Statistics my class has been doing graphs. For an example some people were going around asking what people's favourite movies out of the options. We had to gather our data and then make that into a graph. I did this activity with Leah    

Interchange: This week for interchange M1, M2 and M3 have done Drama, PE and Te Reo. My class class only did drama and PE. For PE my class did circuits we had to do Star jumps, Skipping ropes, Hula hoops, Catching balls, Stairs, running on the spot. My personal favorite was using the skipping ropes because I just think that it's the funnest. For drama we had to spell out a word by doing actions with a different word for an example, the word is Hi for the H I might do an action of hiding.

This week for numeracy I have done some coding I guess you could say. What I have done exactly is I have got letters and then I've got a picture for each letter so I had to write Christmas messages with the pictures. I thought that doing this activity was quite fun because I knew how to do it and I just like doing things like what I have done. Here is me and my buddy's work.

This week for numeracy/topic I have completed a google map with lots of the world's worst tornadoes. I had to plot some pictures on and explain what happened when the tornado hit and went away, and what destruction it did.

This week for numeracy (like last week) I have completed more of the problems on the problem solving slide. I have found that some of the problems are easy and some are hard and but most of them are in the middle of easy and hard. I liked doing these problems because they challenged me. This is my Banqer account. This is how I have been gaining money in class to do more things ( not real money ). Next week with my money I would like to get the bean bag for a week (its 250 dollars).

As part of our topic this week I had to act like a soldier in war writing a letter home to someone.

Hello

This more difficult in the war than i expected but i'm doing ok all the food is more yuck and expierd than i expected and really all we're having is expired biscuits and packed stuff it's hard to do all the jobs like dig the trench and more i think i'm starting to get trench foot at least the cats are getting some of the rats that are tormenting the trench tormenting the trench can't wait to get back home and see you all again.

This week for literacy I have written a report about spiders.
I had to write about spiders and what they look like what their food is, and more things about spiders.

Spider Report

Appearance

Some spiders have long legs for the size of their body. Spiders have more eyes than humans, some spiders have eight eyes some even have twelve eyes. Quite a few spiders are very hairy as an example the trancherla perhaps. A couple spiders are quite colourful, in different ways. Lots of spiders are very big but yet some are very very small. Spiders have quite a lot of legs.

Food

Spiders eat lots of stuff as an example woodlice. Even spiders like to eat smaller animals and small lizards. They eat flies and in other words insects. Some spiders like the daddy long legs eats other spiders they suck the other spiders blood.

Habitat

Spiders live really anywhere in the world except from Antarctica.They live all over the place a simple fact is there is 40.000 different types of spiders all around the world so there would have to be lots of spiders. An example is they live in trees. Here is some ideas of what they live in like basements, corners of houses, plants, attics.

Life Cycle

The life cycle of the spider is quite simple really. First there has to be an adult female spider to mate with a male spider. Secondly the female spider will lay lots and lots and lots of eggs (sometimes female spiders can lay up to 2000 eggs). Thirdly the eggs hatch into baby spiders. Fourthly the baby spiders will age into adult spiders. Fifthly it happens all over again.

Predators/Prey.

Spiders do have predators and prey like every other animal.

This week for maths we have been doing time activities.
